NOMAD project: mobile data collection for humanitarian organizations

NOMAD (HumanitariaN Operations Mobile Acquisition of Data) is a project that is co-presented by IMMAP and CartONG. It is funded by CNES and the Humanitarian Innovation Fund. Its goal is to demonstrate technical operational and economic inputs of mobile data collection in the framework of monitoring but above all in the framework of quick evaluation humanitarian missions. CartONG participated in the setting up of an online selection tool that enables analysis of needs and solutions proposals that are the more suitable for users.

The project has been set up in a partnership of several NGOs (IMMAP, CartONG, WFP, Auvea, MEDES, CNES, ACAPS, IOM, MobileActive). After some meetings to define the needs the NOMAD Workshop has taken place in 2013. It enables meeting between users and providers of mobile solutions. There were a time for discovering the online selection tool and a time to share about feedbacks and experiences.
