CartONG strongly believes in conducting and attending workshops and conferences for people to exchange ideas, present on new developments and stay connected with the community. Our own flagship is GeONG, the conference organised by CartONG in Chambery for all international organizations interested in GIS and Information Management on a bi-annual basis (all even years).
However, we also make efforts to attend other workshops and events, especially around GIS and humanitarian assistance, but also mobile data collection. Mostly we present at those events, quite often containing a capacity building element, but also on our projects, when a wider public audience is present, or on a particular technical or implementation aspect of one of our projects, if we have piloted something new.
Events or courses where we have presented include the UNOSAT/University of Copenhagen Master course, Pantheon and Petits Amphis Du Sorbonne, ShelterCluster and ShelterCentre Events, but also UN conferences and workshops like UNGIWG, UNSpider and internal workshops related to Information Management of UNHCR.
Our interventions can be informational or interactive, whatever suits the style of the conference or workshop best.
Get in touch with us, if you are interested in having us speak at one of your events. Prices/Compensation will depend on the preparation time and whether the intervention is given by the volunteer or the professional branch.
