{"id":571,"date":"2023-06-15T15:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-06-15T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cartong.lacooperativedesinternets.fr\/?p=571"},"modified":"2024-03-26T11:08:13","modified_gmt":"2024-03-26T10:08:13","slug":"cartong-continues-to-expand-its-pro-bono-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cartong.org\/en\/2023\/06\/15\/cartong-continues-to-expand-its-pro-bono-support\/","title":{"rendered":"CartONG continues to expand its pro bono support!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-coopi-media-text\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"936\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cartong.org\/app\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Probono-002-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1851 size-undefined\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p><strong>In 2023 and for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cartong.org\/activity\/structuring-our-volunteering-activities-and-building-partnerships-around-volunteering\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">second year in a row<\/a>, CartONG is stepping up its\u00a0<em>pro bono<\/em>\u00a0support for small and medium-sized NGOs.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is thanks to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fonjep.org\/nous-connaitre\/missions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fonjep<\/a>&nbsp;&#8220;Volontariat d&#8217;\u00c9changes et de Comp\u00e9tences&#8221; funding, mandated by the French&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.diplomatie.gouv.fr\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Since its creation, CartONG has been able to count on&nbsp;<strong>a community of qualified and motivated volunteers<\/strong>&nbsp;to work on small-scale,&nbsp;<em>ad hoc<\/em>&nbsp;projects. They provide&nbsp;<em>pro bono<\/em>&nbsp;(i.e. free) support to local and international NGOs. Depending on the needs of these associations and the technical specificities of the projects, our volunteers are supported on an&nbsp;<em>ad hoc<\/em>&nbsp;basis by our salaried technical team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2022, the first Fonjep VEC funding enabled CartONG to structure its&nbsp;<em>pro-bono<\/em>&nbsp;policy and strengthen its volunteer community. Over the past year, 15 NGOs have benefited from their support and expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>What types of projects can we support, and over what period of time?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-coopi-media-text has-media-on-the-right\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>The support provided through our (e-)volunteers is of a ad hoc nature, clearly defined in time and generally focused on projects whose complexity is considered &#8220;simple&#8221; or &#8220;medium&#8221; &#8211; some examples of support below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Production of a static or interactive map:<\/strong>&nbsp;to visualize the areas in which you work, help with decision-making, illustrate an advocacy action, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Information Management:<\/strong>&nbsp;data mining and database development,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Data collection:<\/strong>&nbsp;setting up data collection and management tools.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"847\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cartong.org\/app\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Arrivees_Europe_2022_Forum_Refugies-Probono.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1855 size-undefined\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This list of examples is by no means exhaustive. Depending on your needs, the technical complexity of the requests and the skills available within our volunteer community, we can build the project together and help you better define your requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>This&nbsp;<em>pro bono<\/em>&nbsp;support is aimed primarily at small and medium-sized organizations that do not traditionally have the in-house skills or resources to invest in these issues.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find some examples of the support provided by our volunteers in recent years in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cloud.cartong.org\/s\/zdHbce99Si492xN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this portfolio<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How does it work?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First, our staff works with the requesting organization to understand its mapping and\/or data management needs.
