CartONG supported Solidarités International in Mali and in the Central African Republic on data collection strategy and data management through 3 field missions.
In Mali the aim was to analyse a WASH database and offer support to improve the associated procedures.
In CAR the aim of the two missions was to improve the registration and follopw-up of 200000 beneficiaries, for a consortium lead by SI with Action Contre la Faim and the Danish Refugee Council.
The main objective of this project was to implement a database to manage the beneficiaries, matching the needs of this complex multi-thematic project including more than twenty different activities (including Food Security, WASH, Shelter and Protection) and covering different areas of CAR.
The mobile data collection process targetting around 45,000 households was improved for better quality and fastness. Moreover, the necessary but dull operations of data cleansing and removing duplicates have been semi-automatized (with an identification of potential double records via a weighting system) to simplify the work of the local teams. Automated dashboards were also offered in order to streamline data analysis and decision making.
