For Everyone interested in Mobile Data Collection with Smart Phones and for everyone who has followed or even participated in the NOMAD project:
A two-day NOMAD workshop will be held in Geneva on 22nd and 23rd March 2012 to present our findings.
For those of you not being familiar with the project: NOMAD, run by iMMAP and partners since September 2010 and funded by the French Space Agency (CNES), aims to deliver scalable solutions for field data collection and communication for the humanitarian community.
NOMAD is a consortium effort involving two NGOs (CartONG and iMMAP), two private enterprises (Auvea and MEDES), WFP and IOM as user partner and ACAPS & MobileActive as observer/adviser.
An initial pilot version of NOMAD has been deployed with WFP in Ethiopia to help support food delivery monitoring and reporting in the country. A second phase is under way with IOM in Haiti and will lead to improvements to the user-interface of the data collection tools involved in the service as well as a demonstration of an integrated field data communication tool.
The workshop agenda can be found here .
We look forward to hearing back from you and to see you all in March, please confirm your participation by March 15.
Confirm with Sandra ( s_sudhoff@cartong.org) or Chris ( cbois@immap.org).
