CartONG publish an activity report marked by numerous structuring projects and new strategic partnerships. It was an important year in our internal evolution, with the establishment of facilitator hubs and renewed governance, thereby strengthening our efficiency and capacity for action. Despite an unstable international context, we experienced a notable improvement in our situation and launched several structuring initiatives.
This platform aims to strengthen urban governance in Cameroon by facilitating networking, information sharing, and transparency among the many actors involved in urban development. The CDP represents the digital component of the PUC project and marks a major step forward in structuring data and enhancing collaboration among institutions, local authorities, donors, and technical stakeholders.
After 12 in-country missions in five African pilot countries, with training provided to more than 100 key stakeholders, the Reach the Unreached programme has completed Phase 1 with some positive outcomes as well as a new set of challenges.
As part of the collective mobilization of the H2H Network, CartONG is working alongside CONAFODH and Congolese organizations to develop a data-sharing platform that improves coordination and the effectiveness of humanitarian action in the eastern region of the DRC.
CartONG once again took part in the Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week (HNPW) 2025, organized by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). The event was held in Geneva from March 17 to 28 at the International Conference Centre of Geneva (CICG).
New CartONG case-study focused on empowering local actors to take an active role in disaster preparedness through participatory data collection, mapping flood-prone areas, and leveraging technological solutions like the DarMAERT dashboard.
CartONG is proud to present its new study “ Beyond the Numbers: Reconciling Innovation, Ethics and Impact - An updated panorama of CSO program data management practices and needs ”. Four years after the publication of the study “ Program data: the new Eldorado of Humanitarian Aid and International Development? ‘ in 2020, CartONG continues to explore recent developments as well as the less visible consequences of the ’data-ization” of the work of humanitarian CSOs.
CartONG launched a new survey to better understand program data management needs and practices of humanitarian and international development organizations. The results will be used to inform the updated version of our 2020 study "Program Data: The silver bullet of the humanitarian and development sectors?".
