From mid-April to mid-June 2022, CartONG deployed, in turn, two geographic information systems (GIS) specialists as part of the support provided by the GIS Centre to the 5 operational centers (OCs, also called “sections” below) of Médecins Sans Frontières (referred to as “MSF” below) operating in Ukraine.
Between June 2021 and June 2022, CartONG and Groupe URD joined forces to support Sidaction in the co-construction of a relevant and efficient monitoring & evaluation (M&E) system adapted to their internal functioning.
Thanks to the support of the European Union through the Erasmus+ program called "Small-scale partnerships in adult education", CartONG is launching a new project. From January 2022 to June 2023, the MapInclusive project will aim at helping migrant people in France and Greece to acquire new digital skills through digital mapping activities.
In December 2019, CartONG launched with 10 partners a 3-year project co-funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) dedicated to strengthening the way Information Management is approached by francophone Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
In October 2021, CartONG engaged in its first ever partnership with the Crisis and Support Center (CDCS) of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) regarding an initiative focused on the promotion of responsible data and data protection applied to humanitarian actors and settings over the November 2021 to October 2023 period.
Following our previous disaster risk reduction project, we had hoped for several years to re-launch a large-scale collaboration with the OpenStreetMap Madagascar (OSM-MG) community, which we have been supporting since its early days. The opportunity arose through a partnership with Secours Islamique France (SIF), in the framework of the Avotia project, co-financed by the French Development Agency.
In April 2019, the Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the German development agency, started implementing a new initiative called “Technology Based Adaptation to Climate Change in Rural areas of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan”. This project, which is financed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) aims at strengthening adaptation measures to climate change in both countries.
